Taking Advantage Of These Diabetes Weight Loss Benefits May Decrease Your Needs For Medication.

This is a biggie! Diabetes weight loss benefits! We’ve discussed this subject before.

But this is an area that cannot be talked about enough!

It is so very important to lose pounds if you are overweight! As a matter of fact it can be detrimental to your overall health.

Of course this information applies mostly to type 2 diabetics, as there being overweight is what brought on their problem in the first place, but...

...this information also applies to type 1 diabetics who are overweight.

I can’t over emphasize this next statement enough!

It is important that you work closely with your doctor before you start making weight loss changes. Your need for insulin or other medications will need to be adjusted.

Pay special attention to your sugars (your numbers), as they will drop if you stick to your plan. So beginning here among the…

…many diabetes weight loss benefits is the reducing or getting off of your medications. When your Doctor prescribed your medications he did so according to how bad the disease was as well as your weight.

When you lose weight, your need for medication may need to be reduced. As little as five pounds may make a big difference. Of course this depends on how much you need to lose.

Among other diabetes weigh loss benefits is that you will look better. You begin to look in shape. You will also have more confidence about yourself.

I have an overweight friend who didn’t like eating in restaurants, he thought that people were judging him about his size.

He especially felt this way when he ordered desert. He thought that everyone was staring at him.

Your health overall will be effected because of the benefits of weight loss.

There are many health problems that relate to being overweight or obese. Diabetes is one.

Researchers have found that diabetes and obesity are connected. Even if one who is overweight and does not have diabetes - is still at risk! Simply because this condition may create what’s called insulin resistance.

Insulin resistance is the failure of the cells to react to insulin in the blood stream, which mean that the insulin can’t get the glucose into the cells. Losing weight may help to correct insulin resistance.

More on diabetes weight loss benefits.

Another problem and it’s a big one! Heart disease. All of which includes:

  • coronary artery disease
  • heart attack
  • heart failure
  • and angina.

All of these are related to cholesterol plaque circulating through the arteries. This causes blockages in the arteries associated with the heart. This can cause heart disease.

Heart Disease Is America's Number One Killer!

  • 2500 Americans will die today from heart disease
  • 946,000 Americans died last year from heart disease
  • there is a heart attack every 20 seconds in America

A reduction in weight loss by eating correctly and avoiding fatty foods may reduce cholesterol, which reduces the clogging of the arteries, and thus avoiding heart attack, stroke and other heart related diseases.

This also relieves pressure on the heart and brings down the blood pressure (hypertension).

Hypertension can effect the eyes and liver, as well as cause heart disease as mentioned above.

Besides causing heart attack this can also result in strokes.

The American Diabetes Association says that losing 10 or 15 pounds has health benefits. The benefits includes:

  • lower blood sugar.
  • reduced blood pressure.
  • improved cholesterol levels.
  • lightens the stress on hips, knees, ankles and feet.

Not to mention the extra energy and the ability to breathe easier.

To begin, I'm sure I don't have to mention when starting your weight loss program - you need to change your diet. Now I'm not going to go into great detail here, because you know what you need to do.

I will mention though the need to stop eating acidic foods! Acidic foods causes fat to be stored (fats accumulate to protect the organs and cells from the destruction of acids).

For more information on this subject see Acids Cause Diabetes here on this site.

Get rid of the acids and you'll get rid of the fat! Let’s move on to other diabetes weight loss benefits.

Also included in your weight loss plans should be…

…exercise. It’s very difficult to lose weight without exercise. Sometimes the problem is getting started.

Mostly though is keeping your exercise program going. You have to make it a habit.

Here is a program that I recommend. This programs emphasizes working out for only 90 seconds.

If you are a busy person, don't really enjoy working, or...

...if you find it hard to stick with an exercise program, you should check out this free video.

It's endorsed by Dr. Phil.

Exercising does a lot for those wanting to assure success in all of the diabetes weight loss benefits.

  • It lowers blood pressure
  • Increases levels of good cholesterol
  • Increases muscle mass and makes the muscles stronger (muscles increases uptake of glucose)
  • Stronger bones
  • More energy
  • Better mood
  • Lessens stress
  • Increases circulation, etc.

These are just some of the many benefits of diabetes weight loss benefits. There are many more. Just start with what’s shared here and you will be well on your way.
